"Sebastian and sleeping Ciel and the trunk!"
The cover illustration for DVD1 is out on the anime official website.
I was a bit surprised as I didn’t expect them to put it up like that on the front page. (smile)
The colour spread in this month’s issue is a hollow image of Sebastian, and on the DVD cover a hollow Ciel.
Aniplex specified the theme “Sebastian and sleeping Ciel and the trunk!” so I worked on it.
It’s interesting to think about how to demonstrate it with a given theme.
It’s not appealing as an image if I simply stuffed Ciel into a trunk, so I aimed to demonstrate a dancing sense (pose?).
I can’t go into the details, but in season 2 these two will often find themselves dancing to Claude&Alois’ tune… (bitter smile)
Probably because Claude danced in ep1 or because of the PV, I tend to associate season 2 with a “dancing” image.
Nice isn’t it, dancing in tailcoat!!! (exciting)
We intend to print on the clear dvd sleeve this time, there’s certain gimmick on the picture if you remove it from the sleeve.
I drew a lot of tins stacking as in frame style. (Thanks to Nakagawa-san for the labels（＾＾）)
Just like the last dvd and the coming anthology Rainbow Butler 2, I have been doing more stereoscopic illustrations lately which caused Nakagawa-san the designer a lot of trouble. Sorry! (sweating)
I’m planning to draw various characters through the course of the series!! I’ll do my best!
Someone on twitter commented shortly after “Why not AloisClaude pair!?” When it comes to episodes with that pair as the lead, I’ll draw them for the DVD cover.
Frankly speaking, you can’t tell what kind of butler Claude is or what kind of child Alois is based on ep1 alone. There is too much unknown. (bitter smile)
And they have only aired 4 episodes so far, not even half way through.
As seen in preview, the two pairs will come to meet in ep5, for now please enjoy the episode!
How shall I put it, when people start asking such question it really shows how much they love Alois&Claude. I’m glad to see that.
As the creator although I haven't got much chance to draw Alois&Claude (since they’re anime original characters), I’m pleased to know that anime fans love them.
Of course if the manga fans can come to love them too I’d be more pleased…
But I’m feeling anxious… (sweating) they have gained so many fans with just 1 episode (or 2 counting ep4), as the plot develops and people get to know the different aspects of the characters, will you continue to shower them with love?
“Will you still love me if I ●●?” a question in Persona style.
The ●● part contains serious spoiler so… Let’s wait until the last episode is aired.
Moreover, in addition to Alice, there’s going to be another OVA!
It’s called “Welcome to the Phantomhive Household!” in which all the manga characters will come out to entertain (?) the viewer, it’s like a dream. It’s awesome.
I was rolling on the floor after reading the scripts. Ku…Kuroshitsuji…This is groundbreaking! Everyone’s so kind!
While watching the events, I used to think female fans would be pleased to have animes like that, but never expected it to come true!

Regarding Alice I think you already read in anime magazines, after Part 1 there will be a Part 2.
A certain character “We don’t have the same…” might join the show in Part2 so please stay tuned!
Also there is a serious looking butler with glasses, bunny ears and tails, over 2 meters (ears inc.) tall. Please look forward to his performance.
I think everyone will get to see things you have been curious to see in Part1 besides Alice.

The anime staff are very keen on fanservice! Hats off!
There is an antique atmosphere around it because the background research assistant Murakami-san handled the scenario himself… Oh well it’s Kuroshitsuji, quite a mess. (lol)
We don’t have to worry too much about the historical time period so it’s a bit pop and kitschy.
That was fun! About 30 different patterns in costume design alone?
I got to design quite a few things like accessories, costume and food.
You’d not want to eat it. (lol)
My favourite in Part1 is Lizzie’s mouse costume.
I think they have gone beyond the scope of OVA production to revamp the background and character designs.
The A-1 staff are working very hard so by all means please support them.
Toboso will also be doing what little she can in the shadow, very little really.
DVDs will go on sale from September onwards, there will be more to the OVA series, please stay tuned to find out!

To be honest, I don't think it's befitting for kuroshitsuji to have a happy ending. I still wish for an open ending too but i'm not getting my hopes high. They did kill Ciel last time and this time, they might as well kill both, as hinted in the OP. Blood in itself doesn't give a good visual impression so they used rose petals instead, that's it.
